Serving Serving Batavia, Cincinnati, and Withamsville

Compact and efficient, the 2018 Mazda CX-5 is a crossover SUV with five seats. Having a mid-size design with three rows, the 2018 CX-9 is a crossover SUV with seven seats. Both vehicles run on the legendary SKYACTIV powertrain and iACTIV All-Wheel Drive. The MAZDA CONNECT infotainment system and Bose speakers are also available in these premium family cars. The i-ACTIVSENSE suite controls the active safety features in these reliable models.

Performance

A 2.5 L DOHC engine block is standard in the 2018 Mazda CX-5. Using advanced direct injection, this naturally aspirated powertrain produces 187 hp and 186 lb-ft. The Cylinder Deactivation technology saves fuel when the car stands still. Running on the Dynamic Pressure Turbo technology, the 2018 CX-9's 2.5 L engine whips out 250 and 310 lb-ft. This compact turbo engine is engineered to operate on premium unleaded gasoline. Both Mazda vehicles utilize the SKYACTIV-G technology for combustion. Engineered to optimize all-weather performance, the i-ACTIV AWD is available in the CX-5 and CX-9. Both crossover SUVs are driven by an automatic transmission system with the SKYACTIV-DRIVE technology. Featuring six gear speeds, this transmission includes the Sport Mode and Manual Shift Mode. Designed to improve cornering attributes, the SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS is also installed in these Mazda models. The G-Vectoring Control keeps the wheels aligned with the lane markings of curved roads and trails. A 2,000-pound towing rating is given to the CX-5, and the CX-9 has a 3,500-pound towing capacity.

Interior

The Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry makes it easy to unlock the doors of the 2018 CX-5 and CX-9. Both crossover SUVs have push-button start systems that are synced with an electronic key. A dual zone climate control system is standard in the CX-5, and the CX-9 has three zones for optimum comfort in all three rows. Three levels of heating are available in the heated front seats of both Mazda models. The MAZDA CONNECT infotainment system is a premium technology that's installed in these vehicles. You can stream Aha, Pandora, Stitcher and SiriusXM Satellite Radio from the multimedia console. The Bose speakers in the CX-5 and CX-9 have the Centerpoint 2 technology for optimum acoustic quality. Of course, the Mazda Navigation System is integrated into the infotainment console.

Safety

The Smart City Brake Support helps the 2018 CX-5 and CX-9 avoid accidents in slow-moving urban traffic. Both crossover SUVs have the Mazda Radar Cruise Control with the Stop and Go feature. Scanning the surroundings, front and rear sensors make it easy to park the CX-9. When you pull out of a parking space, the Rear Cross Traffic Alert and rear view camera offer extra reassurance. If you're nervous about driving at night, you'll get more confidence from the Adaptive Front Lighting and High Beam Control. These family cars also have sensors that analyze your lane changes in real time. The Distance Recognition Support and Traffic Sign Recognition distinguish the CX-9 as one of the safest cars in its class.
